What is NuGold?

 

NuGold is not gold. It's also known as jewelers brass, red brass, Jeweler’s Bronze or Merlin’s Gold. It's a type of brass alloy (85% copper/15% zinc); that is a great color match to 14K yellow gold. It is the most affordable option that I offer. I often create new pieces in nugold to keep initial costs down. This is why you see a lot of my jewelry in this metal. Plus I really love how it looks.

 

Will Brass Tarnish?

 

Yes it will. Both silver and Brass will tarnish, brass much easier than silver. There's a simple fix and that is if your piece is brushed metal (which most of my pieces are) simply take a green SOS pad and rub off the tarnish.  I like to cut a little piece and keep it in my jewelry box.  For polished pieces soak in warm white vinegar, and I like to use sunshine cleaning cloth. Don't use polishing cloths on brushed metal. If you rather not deal with cleaning your jewelry, I recomend getting sterling silver. 
 

My skin turned green after wearing your jewelry, and the ear wire hurts my ears, what do I do?

 

This doesn't happen to everyone, but some people's skin is sensitive to certain metals.  Try clear nail polish as a quick fix. Apply a couple  coats to inside your ring or ear wire. This creates a barrier between your skin and the metal. You may need to re-apply over time. My jewelry is nickel-free. 

 

Where can I see your jewelry in person?

 

Currently there isn't any stores carrying  my jewelry, as I am new at this. As soon as they do I will post on this page.  Please like my facebook page . There you will be notified of stores that will be carrying my line, as well as craft fairs and events I will be selling at. How long do made-to-order pieces take to arrive?

 

 I do my best to finish the piece within 2 weeks of payment. It is then takes 1-3 business to ship.  

 

How is your jewelry packaged?

 

I present each piece in a moss filled paper box. I try to include enough packing material, so your piece arrives safely.
